It’s a Knight to Honor & Celebrate

Hear ye, hear ye!

Calling all lords and ladies, knights and kings, you’re invited to attend our 4th Annual Knight of Honor. This year’s gala will be held on Friday, September 27, at the South Carolina State Museum. Knight of Honor is an evening to honor and celebrate excellence in community policing and to highlight those who do their very best each day to make a positive difference in their community.

“My husband was a hero for not only how he died, but more importantly, for how he lived,” Serve & Connect Founder Kassy Alia Ray said. “Since his death, I have often heard of the many ways he touched people’s lives through his compassion and kindness. It is little moments like these which build more connected communities. Through Knight of Honor, we seek to elevate the power of little moments through celebration and help acts of kindness spread throughout South Carolina.”

Earlier this year, officers from around the state were nominated for the 4th Annual Officer Gregory Alia Award. They’re nominated based on their outstanding compassion, kindness, and service to others. Six officers will be recognized during the award ceremony to be “knighted” and inducted into the Serve & Connect Knights of the Round Table and one will be recognized with the Officer Gregory Alia Award. We’ll also recognize one outstanding citizen hero whose actions have significantly contributed to improving safety and well-being in their community. We’re excited to begin sharing the stories with you of those will be knighted into the Knights of the Round Table! There are some wonderful servants in our community whose good deeds do not go unnoticed.

The funds raised at this event will go towards Serve & Connect and our overall mission of strengthening communities by bridging the divide between police officers and the citizens that they serve. We are committed to creating better tomorrows by helping communities build trust, optimize collaboration, and foster a shared sense of pride. Our programs establish powerful connections among community members, leaders, organizations, and police in hopes of empowering them to develop a shared voice, vision, and action plan for community improvement.
